Totagar's Rural Co-operative Agricultural Multipurpose Society Ltd., Sirsi
Being one of the best co-operative societies in the district, Totagar's Rural Co-operative Agricultural Multipurpose Society Ltd., Sirsi (TRC) has recently completed the centenary year of its establishment. The society was registered in 1913 by the name of the “Sirsi Totagars Co-operative Paraspara Sahakari Sangha”. The name was changed to the Totagars Rural Co-operative Credit Bank in 1962, and in 2011 it was renamed Totagar's Rural Co-operative Agricultural Multipurpose Society Ltd., Sirsi (U.K.).
The society is a primary agricultural co-operative credit society (PACS), with an area of operation covering the entire Uttara Kannada district except Karwar taluk. It started with 8 shareholders and has now surpassed 3,500 share members.
The society was initiated by Late Mr. Venkatarao Nilekani, with the help of others, to safeguard the interest of arecanut farmers. Under the leadership of Late Mr. Shripad Hegde Kadave and Shri D. D. Vishwamitra, the society grew to new heights. Shri R. S. Hegde Kadave is the current chairman of the society.

Registered as “Sirsi Totagars Co-operative Paraspara Sahakari Sangha” with 8 shareholders, initiated by Late Mr. Venkatarao Nilekani.
1962
Renamed the Totagars Rural Co-operative Credit Bank.
2011
Renamed Totagar's Rural Co-operative Agricultural Multipurpose Society Ltd., Sirsi (U.K.).
Today
Over 3,500 share members across Uttara Kannada (except Karwar taluk), led by Chairman Shri R. S. Hegde Kadave.

Our Board of Directors
The society is governed by a board of directors headed by the chairman. Board members are elected by the share members once every five years. The board meets regularly, usually once a month, for overall administration and policy making.

Recognised for our service to farmers
The society has made a profit for several years and is one of the highest KCC (Kisan Credit Card) loan lenders in the state. It has received awards for its services and achievements from The Karnataka State Co-operative Apex Bank Ltd.
The Kanara DCC Bank Ltd., Sirsi recognised TRC as the best PACS, and TSS Ltd., Sirsi, a leading marketing society in the state, has awarded the society several times for its successful implementation of credit linking with marketing.
Senior officials of NABARD and RBI, department heads, and chairmen and directors of other co-operative societies have visited the society and praised its work and services.
